We are individuals who serve through advocacy, love, and compassion for the oppressed.
We are not cosplayers. We don our uniforms for visual symbolism with the intention to reach humanity on the parallels that are written in text and in the stories passed down through generations. History repeats itself. We are living in dangerous times. The goal is to feel, to be motivated to act through intentional actions in 'being the change.'
The Handmaids highlight oppression through our red subjugated attire. We are visible, known by the color we wear. Our wings are like horse blinders, limiting vision and hearing. Our masks symbolize that we are to be seen and not heard.Â
We are here to remind you of how silent oppression becomes THIS.
In reality, there is no silent oppression; there is only silence in not calling attention to the control over bodily autonomy.
